looking ahead

Thu Dec 3, 2009, 5:08 AM
MSN has rather kindly issued me with this years edition of "Next year's must see films!" So allow me to go through each of them that actually interest me.

The Wolfman!
You know what? I'm actually going to give this movie a try. I know a while back I practically destroyed it in my journal entry but I'm still going to test it out. But I still can't see why they based the wolf on the one from the original movie. It looked bloody awfull!

Alice in Wonderland!
You know what Mr. Burton? I'm very surprised they're not sticking you in a mental health institution. It wouldn't surprise me at the extremely trippy looking scenes of his new feature film which takes us down the rabbit hole to look at Wonderland in an even more sereal view than ever before. I remember being a little freaked out by the sight of the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and especially the Cheshire cat. So I suppose what I'm trying to say is I think they've turned a children's book in a 15's movie. And I think it's an awesome idea.

A Nightmare on Elm Street!
What? I-I...What?! Why are you making ANOTHER sequel? This must be like the seventeenth! Not only that, but they've cast Jackie Earle Haley as the razor handed man himself who we last saw as loveable ol' Rorschach in Watchmen. Also, why're they calling it "A Nightmare on elm street"? Why not "A nightmare on elmstreet 79 the terror returns again" or something. It's the same problem with Star trek and The Final Destination. Has everything had to go through a reset including the titles or something? Anyway, I'm not going to watch this. Mostly because I think the idea of it being remade is absurd but mostly because the first one scared me so hard I've not watched another since.

Prince of Persia!
*sigh* I hate it when people make movies of games or vice versa. It just never works out (Especially when directed by uwe boll) So why's this one getting so much publicity? Well, I suppose you could blame it on the fact that playing the prince himself is Mr. Donnie Darko himself, Jake Gyllenhaal. Surprise surprise. I still think they should have got an actual persian (Or Iran as it's now known I believe) to play the role... Omid Djalili would have been my first choice. But I think it's safe to say, unless they do a scene where the prince falls down a hole into spikey oblivion twenty times only for someone to turn off the movie for a few hours while having a calming cup of hot chocolate, the experiance will just not be the same.

Shrek goes Fourth!
Yet again, why? Can't you tell when a franchise is dead? Shrek the third was quite a flop so why try and milk the dead cow any longer? Oh but you've not heard the punchline of this movie yet. Do you know what the plot is? Shrek stumbles into a parrallel version of Far Far Away. WHAT?! Was this movie produced my Nintendo or something?! Stop trying to make us care! Sure all three films thus far have been very funny but the enjoyment factor faded with each passing film and this one will not be an exception.

Toy Story 3!
Well hoo-bloody-ray. It only took you 11 years to stop picking your nose and actually make something. Yes we've all been excited about this long awaited installment to the Toy Story series. But after watching the trailer I'm not so sure anymore. The story is as follows; Andy has all grown up and now attends college so he now has no need for his toys. (I can't relate to that. I'm in college and I still sleep with my teddy bear ^_^) Previously, the thought of Andy giving away his toys was their worst nightmare but now they welcome the idea because they're being given to a children's play group where they'll actually get played with again. But, after the first night they realise it isn't as great as they thought it was and decided to escape (TO WHERE?!) after their first attmept, Buzz manages to break himself and so the gang have to restore him to his factory settings which also turns him spanish for some reason. Yeah and that's all I got. A little part of me hopes that this movie will suck so that the next 20 year wait won't hurt as much.

and that's all. I suppose I could mention Part one of the final Harry potter film but we all know how that ends because everyone in the universe has either read the book or didn't bother and just asked a friend who has for the ending. I am a proud member of the latter catagory.

Before I go, I'd just like to announce that I am creating myself a Wix.com page and have opened a Livestream account. That is all friends. Till next time!

Pointing out every little thing thats wrong with life is neither big nor clever. But it helps to pass the time.

Yeah, I really don't think I'm gonna fill it up! :O
You were right, the paint is good! At least now, I can make really good animations with a high-end laptop! :) Look foreward to your voice recordings! I need to send you the rest of the script, or is the bit I sent you on the other laptop?
:icon92nw11:
You've only sent me one part (When I auditioned) and that's still in my inbox.

Ok, I'll send you the whole script when I get to school (I'm sad now though, I don't think I have Microsoft Office... :( ) I wish I knew what to do with all this memory though! I'm going to try and find a good music making program, like GarageBand, but for Windows, becuase I can't keep using other peoples music lol. You know of any good free ones? That aren't trail?
:iconmelazzee:
Heya! Have you got your new laptop yet? I might have someone lined up for the voice of Katsuro, he does a really good impression of Davis from Digimon! :) I'll finish the version for my school project by late next week, then I'll start work on the proper version.

:)
